Make an Effort with Your Appearance and Impress your Date
So you’ve got a date, and you’re wondering what to wear. Well at one time it would have been enough to just throw on some clean clothes, hope they match and didn’t have any lingering beer stains. These days women are a little fussier about how their men look however, so whether you are dating in London or Newcastle, the pressure’s on not only look presentable, but to look well groomed.
Choose what you’re going to wear, make sure that it’s clean and freshly pressed. Even the most expensive and stylish suit will look like a dishcloth if you don’t take the time to ensure that it’s ironed and looking great. Pick out your accessories. Don’t forget to make sure the socks match both with the clothes you’re going to wear – and with each other. Line up your wristwatch, wallet, keys and any jewellery that you intend to take with you so that you don’t forget them.
Now work from the inside out. Shower and shave – if you’re clean shaven, make sure that your skin is completely smooth, if you’ve got facial hair take time to trim it so that it looks under control. Use an aftershave that complements your shower gel so that you have an over-all scent rather than a mixture of conflicting ones. Don’t use any products or cosmetics that you haven’t used previously when you’re going on a date as it’s possible you may have an allergic reaction to one of them. Always use products your familiar with so you can be confident that you’re not going to turn up with a vivid red rash on your face.
If you are wearing any clothing that you need to pull over your head, such as a sweater, then you should put this on before you do your hair, otherwise, your hair should be sorted whilst it’s still damp. Put in any styling products you want to use and then work them through your hair right to the ends. You need to feel comfortable with the way you look on this date or you won’t feel as self-confident as you should.
Finally put on your clothes ensuring that everything is the right way around, and not inside out – it happens, especially if you start to run short of time! Then you just need to put on your wristwatch and jewellery, put your wallet in your pocket, pick up your keys and you’re ready to impress any date you’re taking out!
