The Importance of Co-ordinating Scents

Sanjay ShelatWomen have had this rule of scents drummed into them for years but it seems to be a bit slow in catching on for guys. Smell co-ordination may seem like a way for one brand to get all your sales, but there actually is a good reason behind the idea! If you’re doing the whole “I’m going on a date and I’m going to smell good enough to eat” thing, then you want her to be all over you, and not wanting to push you away because there’s so much going on in the scent department, she can’t breathe! Smelling nice is a good thing, but done wrong and it can be too much of a good thing.

Usually known as layering because using the same scent in a number different applications, from cleansing soap right through to aftershave and onto deodorant means that you are more certain to smell nice throughout the entire date. The co-ordinating layers help the scent to linger longer then if you just have a thin surface mist of aftershave combating with skin products of a different scent.

Women love a guy who smells nice, so even if you’re not too keen on the idea of all this scented stuff, if you’re hoping to do well on your date – or to get that person who’s caught your eye to say yes to your offer of a date – then get ready for action by scenting up! This is especially important in the case of trying to make a good impression quickly, if you are going speed dating in London for example, this is a must! You can use ordinary soap as a cleanser, it’s more than adequate and if you’re not getting gussied up for something special and wearing half a pint of aftershave, then soap will do the job just great. If you are out to impress however, soap will only work if it’s either scent-free, or it co-ordinates with the other products that you plan to use.

Take a wander down to your local department store and wander around the increasing array of men’s scents and find one that you really like, and which has a wide range of skincare products. This is the range you should start and invest in. Use the same scent for all your skin applications and you’ll find you attract the ladies rather than repel them – it’s common scents really!
