Concealing Male Baldness

Gradual hair loss is often challenging for young men to handle. At least they can take comfort in the fact that the stigma of the past concering baldness no longer exists. Many women even considered bald men to be sexy. Patrick Stewart is a big hit with the ladies, and I don’t think he ever had hair. As a result men are increasingly choosing the bald look. But for those men who prefer to have a full head of hair, there are a few options that can give them a fuller look. The good thing about these tips is they don’t involve surgery.
Keep your hair short. Many men find this as an effective way of dealing with thinning hair. The recommendation is that if your scalp is visible on the top of your head, then you should cut the hair on the sides of your head so that it is short enough that you can see the same amount of your scalp there. This will even things out and it will reduce the appearance of thinning hair. One thing that is not recommended is to simply comb your hair over a bald spot. It won’t conceal your baldness.
Wear a messy look. Put a light gel on your hair and mix your hair around. This can add some texture and help conceal the baldness. You can thicken your hair by using volumizing shampoos and conditioners. They increase volume by raising the cuticle and expanding the hair shaft. You can add more volume by drying your hair with a blow dryer.
Another option is to wear a hair piece. A good one can cost quite a bit of money. But it may be worth the investment, because a cheap hair piece often looks fake and can be a distraction. It’s best to not to have a hair piece sutured directly on the scalp. This can lead to an infection or scarring. You can get assistance in choosing a hair piece from a barber. Look on the bright side, at least we are not talking about having breast implant surgery like women have to go through.
