Skin Care Basics for Men

Skin Care is equally important for both men and women. There are people, who still think that beauty and skin care is for women and not men. True, it may not be of same importance when compared to women, but still men need some basic care.

However, times are changing. Today quite a few numbers of men will give hundreds of reasons why they need specialized skin and beauty solutions like females. Nowadays, everyone wants to look well turned out.

Composition wise, both male and female skin care products consist of the same basic components namely elastin and collagen. They are actually proteins which form the base of any skin products. They are known to maintain the elasticity of the skin.

Dry skin is a common problem faced by almost all men after their daily shaving routine. The whole process itself is erroneous. Starting from the shaving cream to aftershave, everything irritates. The alcohol found in after shaves causes the skin to become dry and ultimately leads to rashes. Then different chemicals that go into making the shaving cream also increase the irritation. Preferably one should use something which is soothing like aloe vera and other natural additives.

Another thing that is very crucial for good beautiful skin is the retention of moisture and for that moisturizer comes handy. Men’s skin may look rough when compared to women, but they are affected the same way when they go out in the sun. Special sun screens with SPF’s are available for men. Nowadays, to counteract the various ill effects of modern life, special anti aging creams are available for men to improve things morphologically.

Skin care and overall grooming doesn’t end with cosmetics, and good hygiene with regular morning exercises proves to be very beneficial in the long run. A good night’s sleep is a must for a healthy and glowing complexion.

If you still think that men lag behind in usage of beauty care products, it better you see the real picture yourself. Modern men strive for the best.

Maybe you’re trying to impress a lady who just isn’t into hairy guys. Or you could be training for the next big bodybuilding competition. Whatever your reason may be you want to get rid of your body hair.

The most common and popular way to get rid of body hair, is of course to shave your face, your neck, and even the upper portion of your back. But in some cases, shaving might not be the best thing. Ever tried shaving your chest? If you don’t shave it every day, and you allow it to grow back, it tends to itch. And we don’t want that.

So what’s your next option? Waxing has good results, and even though women do it, we men tend to hate waxing. Why? Because it hurts like you know what. So if you can’t shave it, and you can’t wax it, what do you do with it?

There are various creams and lotions on the market that promote hair removal, but you’re going to need to do very careful research in order to find out what works, and what doesn’t. Go with one that has some sort of moisturizer in it. Keep in mind that what works for someone else, may literally have no effect whatsoever on you. Everyone’s body is different.

For drastic measures, you may have to resort to speaking to someone who specializes in laser hair removal. This method uses laser light energy to permanently remove unwanted hair. Very few people have reported any sort of side effects with this procedure. The procedure is also very safe when administered by a specialist. This method will certainly cost much more than any out method out there.
