We keep hearing about the new man, the ’metrosexual male’, but do we really know what defines the metro male? Well before we brand someone as the next Metro guy let’s get a peek into what actually makes these men click!
Men were always considered to be brawny, with loads of Diesel Yorkshire ruggedness, driving a tough vehicle, and definitely sporting a beard, or a mustache at the very least. Move over, because the Metro man has made the clean shaven look a trend! What’s more, a Metro male, being confident and particular of his looks, is very comfortable going in for – hold your breath – spa treatments, facials and pedicures too! The tough SUVs and Jeeps are replaced by sleek sedans, and the leather jackets are back in the closet, because our man like to dress suave. Double breasted suits, slim fitting shirts and ties are the way forward!
Earlier, men were associated with ’tough'jobs such as welding, carpentry and fire fighting. While some men still carry on that way, Metro Men are the ones who work with corporate honchos and make big money. They prefer to own bachelor pads, love to party all night and invest in the latest technological gadgets. As for hobbies, they’re not afraid to pursue something ’feminine'such as pottery or art.
Whatever you may say, the new age Metro male definitely has a way with women and loves to woo them. This means that he knows that today’s independent woman needs her space and will not shy away from letting her pay the bills once in a while. No wonder we love ’em like this! Cheers to the Metro man!
