How To Engage In Great Dating Conversation

How To Engage In Great Dating Conversation

When you are on your first date the most essential thing to do would be to strike up an interesting conversation with the person. It is true the pressure of a first date sometimes gets to us making us more nervous and hence unable to say anything that would engage the person. However the key to creating an impression in the first meeting is just being yourself. Do not attach an unnecessary baggage with the first date. Remember not all first dates are meant to lead to the second one. And the reason for this is not your inability to impress the person but simply you are not compatible with the person.

When out with a woman do not try too hard to impress her. Be natural. In fact let her feel you are not at all bothered by what she thinks of you. This will let you be in control of the situation and get her hooked to you. Women really like men who have a great sense of humour. Crack jokes, make her laugh and chances are you will land up on a second date with her very soon. Remember one of the basic objectives of a first date is to let the person enjoy and be comfortable with you. To do this you need to ask them about themselves, what their hobbies are, what they enjoy doing, etc. Stay away from topics such as the weather or where you can buy sofas.

Since most men are egotistical they like to be with women whom they can show they can protect them. Do not be too judgemental about whatever she tells you. Just listen to her. Do not ask things with the intention of seeking information rather look for intimacy. Having said all this, not everyone is a great conversationalist. Hence it would be appropriate to rehearse your first date so that on D day you are comfortable with your potential partner.

Facial Grooming For Men

Facial Grooming For Men

The application of face masks for men has not yet picked up to the expected level of acceptance amongst men as yet. While most other forms of grooming that had been women only territory till late has turned unisex, usage of face mask has yet a lot of learning to be done prior usage.

Prior to application of the face mask it is essential that the dead skin cells that remain on the skin surface are removed by the process termed exfoliation. The dead skin cells otherwise behaves as a sponge of the mask matter that is applied. It is also advisable that application of the mask be restricted to areas other than around the eyes, as this part has some oil producing glands which could be damaged.

Masks are made up of ingredients that have strong reaction to certain types of skin. The mask therefore selected should be one that is suitable to one’s skin. For oily textured skin oil, absorbing clay mask could be of great advantage. However, the same mask would be harmful rather than beneficial to a skin of dry texture. Such a skin type should use moisture masks instead.

Excepting for the hydrating masks, all other masks should be restricted to a maximum of two times a week usage or application. Most people apply a face mask just before a special occasion. The power of the mask is such that it draws oil from the skin and at times leaves it dry. In such cases it is advisable to apply some extra moisturizer for the occasion.

There are a wide variety of face masks now available in the market and each of them has a special ability that is usually marked in the detailed section of the product. In case of any ambiguity it is better to consult professional men’s groomers rather than opting for a product without clear understanding of the effects of the item. There is no doubt in the saying that a face says it all, in reality only a man’s face says it all.

The Change of Attitude towards Male Cosmetics

posted by easmgr in Uncategorized

Consider for example a time that was twenty years ago, if a man were to approach a beauty shop and enquire for under-eye concealer, the individual would have been looked upon with a quizzical if not queer look. But that has changed with times. The analysts in UK have noted the male grooming market which was £685million in 2004 has risen considerably in the last few years, including everything from laser hair removal to make-up. Out of these total sales figures there was a big chunk that went towards cosmetic purchases alone.

Mascaras or concealers for men are no more oddities that one gets to hear or read about in the humor column of magazines anymore. It’s a fully fledged market product and in high demand at that. In fact exclusive ranges of self-tan moisturizer or tinted moisturizer or mattifying gel are dedicated specifically to men.

The punk culture and other such terms being used these days like gothic trend or fashion that seems to be the trademarks of the men who are famous already are the reason for this change or rise of male cosmetics.

Rumors and write ups that do the rounds of the popular magazines have stated that David Beckham uses mascara and that Michale Caine got so carried away by the effect of the mascara that he used during the making of the movie Zulu that he continues to use the same effect for few subsequent movies. Such news and tit bits raise the urge of the common man to be also attracted towards using these types of cosmetic covers.

There has been a noticeable change in the attitude of men and there seems to be a mutually accepted understanding between the two genders on the issue of beauty and the brawn turning unisex. At the end of it all, there is actually no harm in pampering yourself with some beautifying products!

The Elixir of Youth for Men!

The Elixir of Youth for Men!

It is no surprise that men are joining the bandwagon in maintaining a young and vibrant look about them. The machismo trait of the rustic and rugged look does not go down too well in urban life. Priorities for looking good differ from men to women in many different ways. Women tend to have a lot more options and variance in terms of giving themselves a different kind of look, be it with makeup, hairstyles, colors, etc. Men cannot be so adventurous with their approach but nonetheless there is quite a bit of scope.

Keeping your teeth, pearly white is a good way to start. You can either use whitening toothpaste that would take about two to three weeks to show some effect or simply saunter over to your dentist for immediate results. Smile a little more and show off those dazzlers.

Men have different skin types. They need to use face wash that suits their skin type and follow it up with a moisturizer. No one likes to see a lackluster looking face staring down at him or her but of course you do not need to have a silky looking texture either. Using an eye cream after the age of 35 is highly recommended as the wrinkles start appearing there earlier than the rest of your face.

And, do trim the eyebrows! You do not need to shape them like a woman but just get a less scraggly dog look by simply tweezing a stray hair here and there, and pay special attention to the area between the eyebrows please! That stray hair protruding out of your ear or nose can be such a put off. Keep a small trimming scissor handy in your shaving kit and simply snip away.

Go beyond the blues and grays. Depending on your skin tone, try a shade of pink or light blue even purple. Red looks really good, on some guys, teamed with a pair of jeans.

Fragrance Buying Guide for Men

posted by easmgr in Uncategorized

It always pays to smell good and it is a widely unspoken rule that women are attracted to men who smell good all the time (let’s be honest, no one wants to go out with someone who smells like used campervans). Smelling good always can be termed as an inhuman task and therefore to take care of this situation perfumes were invented. There are plenty of perfumes available in the market but choosing the right one can be quite a task. A fragrance that may smell good on someone may smell awful on someone else. It is also important to choose a fragrance that will suit one’s personality and this technique can be mastered after several trial and error methods. When you are on a perfume buying trip always make sure to take a trusted friend along who can give you an honest suggestion. Meanwhile here are some points that you can remember while buying perfumes:

Perfumes are mainly of 4 kinds. You can also choose from a range of fragrance categories such as citrus, floral, oriental, leather, chypre, aquatic and woody.

  • Perfume (or Parfum): This is the strongest amongst all and lasts for the longest time.
  • Eau de Parfum: This is still strong when compared to the other types but definitely less strong than the first one.
  • Eau de Toilette: This lasts for a few hours and is considerably a popular choice among men
  • Eau de Cologne: This type of fragrance lasts for the least amount of time and is indeed the cheapest.

When buying a fragrance remember to go with a clear head or it may influence your perfume shopping and you can end up buying the wrong fragrance. You can also take coffee beans along with you. They strengthen your sense of smell and this will help you to clearly distinguish between the different fragrances with a fresh perspective. Of course, you can also take your lady love along while buying a perfume!

Why Do Men Feel So Ashamed To Take Care of Themselves?

Why Do Men Feel So Ashamed To Take Care of Themselves?

Ever since the time dinosaurs roamed the face of the earth looking pretty has just been the prerogative of the so called weaker sex– yes, that’s what women are commonly referred to! (Though, I always wonder why on earth is that!) Looking pretty is not just about looks but also about hygiene, is it not?

So women are banished for taking forever on their hair– obviously we would because our hair is much longer than men (normally!). The amount of time it takes to shampoo, condition, dry and comb, and finally style hair which is up to the waist versus up to the ear is bound to be more – don’t you reckon?

Okay, so if looks were important only for women then why are there a slew of beauty products out proudly stating “FOR MEN”? From face washes to shower gels to moisturizers everything is out there for the picking. Even c fold towels, I am not entirely sure how a towel can be for one sex or the other, but there it is. It is obvious that there is a market for this segment else there would not be so many companies jumping onto the bandwagon all of a sudden.

The whole fact of the matter is that in this day and age where we live in cities with such bad quality of air, our hair and skin has to bear the brunt of so called development. Now this muck does not specifically target the select few, which in this case are referred to as the women. Men are also inflicted with dirt and fumes from pollutant spewing cars so are they supposed to go around looking all grimy to make them look macho? Not fair, I say.

So, all you men folk out there, come out your “closed minds” and do not feel shy to proclaim to the world that you too need to use a face wash or even a moisturizer. Free yourselves from the shackles of old stereotypes!

Hair tips for men

Ask beautiful young women about their dream date and names like Johnny Depp, Daniel Craig, Antonio Banderas, and Daniel Radcliffe and so on and so forth keep doing the rounds. So, why do you think that these are the only names, and it’s not a Robert or Tim, the guy next door? The obvious reason is that they are not as concerned about showing off their beauty as these celebrities do for the silver screen and public appearances.

Of late, as per the recent surveys, the Roberts and Tims are also getting concerned about looking good, and to do that, they are trying to imitate the image of celebrities. Some are doing it through quite radical procedures like leg vein treatments but there is the more subtle and widespread tendency to imitate the hairstyles is mostly noticed among the youngsters.

To groom your hair and give it a desired look, it has become a mandate to visit a salon and take the advice from the hair-expert out there, as it is not about only imparting a hair-cut or dying it, but one should also remain careful that it does not damage the hair scalps. As a result, the salons are doing a good business globally, and men too are appearing more handsome than before!

So, here are some tips from one of those experts to maintain your hair and impress “her”.

1. Pat the hair dry with a towel instead of rubbing.

2. Avoid taking super-hot showers.

3. Avoid frequent bleaching.

4. Use a good shampoo or conditioner.

5. Avoid tight hats or ponytails.

In the midst of the soccer fever, now you will be all set for the next couple of weeks, so sport a David Beckham, Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo or Clint Dempsey haircut, and roam around on the streets, with the beautiful ladies staring at you! The ball would definitely be in your court and you can call the shots for a change.

Beauty for men

Beauty for men

Who doesn’t like to get appreciation for their looks? And, the concept of looking good should not be monopolized by women only. If a woman tries hard to look beautiful then a man too should make an attempt at looking handsome.

If you want to attract the opposite sex then you must look fit and fine. This is the era of metro sexuality and thus a man should also devote time in front of the mirror in order to look good.

Previously, spending time in front of the mirror was only a woman’s forte. However, that space is now being shared by men as well, books at cosmetic clinics are filling up fast, and now just as many men are looking into thread vein removal and botox to keep them looking young! The urge for looking good and attractive has even knocked the doors of all the busy men in society. So, here we will discuss some easy and simple ways by which men too can get beautiful glowing skin.

To begin with, men should know that their skin is very different from the skin of a woman. Thus, the number of pores in a man’s skin is higher than those of a woman. So, in order to release the unwanted dust particles, men’s skin should be made to sweat more. Though, this might sound a bit icky but it is true, the more you can induce your skin to sweat the better it will be. Therefore, a jog in the park or a workout session is a great idea in order to get fresh and glowing skin. One must also increase their intake of Vitamin D.

Adequate amounts of sleep, i.e. a minimum of 8 hours at least, and 8 glasses of water in a day go a long way in making the skin healthy. Sleep will keep your face and skin fresh and retain the youthful look for a longer time. Water flushes out toxins and gives radiance to the skin. So, all it takes are as easy steps as these in order to have good skin. And, this certainly goes a long way in enhancing one’s overall look.

Why Should Men Get a Pedicure?

Most men would scoff at the thought of having a pedicure done. The belief is that such things are in the domain of women only and that a real man’s work is only business and earning money for the family. It can however, be extremely beneficial if men do have pedicure, they may not hid their feet in saucony running shoes quite as often.

What exactly do we mean by pedicure? It is nothing but taking care of the feet to ensure that they look clean, free of dead skin, and presentable. Since all the humans, including men have feet, doing a pedicure once in a while is nothing extraordinary.

Men who do not look after their feet face the problem of ingrown toenails. It is ironical that most of men do not have a pedicure done unless they face some problem or the other. This is the typical male reaction to lot of things. As it is very rightly said, prevention is better than cure. Very often, many foot related problems that occur for the first time are most likely to reappear again sooner or later. Moreover, it helps you to get rid of the dry skin associated with the feet. If you go to the right beauty salon, along with pedicure, you will be treated with wine and delicious snacks to make you feel comfortable.

Indulging in pedicure can relieve men from the workload, tension and stress. It can also help them to relax and prevents the accumulation of bacteria around the heels or the toenails. It also prevents the occurrence of cracks and also helps in preventing the spread of communicable diseases like Hepatitis B as such diseases are caused due to accumulation of bacteria and other harmful viruses.

A good pedicure also ensures that your feet receive proper hydration and also helps to prevent any nail disorders. Therefore men shouldn’t shy away from getting a pedicure done.
